Most people fail to succeed due to a lack of strategy.
People tend to think that success just lands in other people’s laps.
The truth is, you must set a daily intention to attain success.
I’ve previously covered creating goals, creating a vision board, creating an action plan, taking action towards your goals, tracking your progress, and celebrating your success.
Another item you can add to your toolbox is setting a daily intention for each day.
Review your main list of goals or tasks previously created and produce an intentionality statement of what it is that you want to focus on that day that will get you closer to your goal.
Some examples would be, “I will have a successful career.” Or “I will have a happy marriage.” Or “I will create a successful business.” Or “I will choose courage over comfort.” Or “I will keep a positive mindset.”
Keep your wording positive as you think about your daily intention.
When you don’t have an intention, you are simply reacting to others which leads to failure.
It’s when you are intentional about what you want and what you’re going to do, is when you will succeed.
Your intention for the day is the thing that you will focus on in your mind and heart.
Your intention will lead your actions throughout your day!
Once you’ve set your intention for the day, focus on only that one thing as much as possible. Give your full attention to that intention and to what you are doing at that moment.
Do not multi-task. Rather than depend on multi-tasking as your strategy, look at some tried and true time management principles.
Keep your intention top of mind as you work. Thought waves become energy waves as you focus your mind on one central thought.
These energy waves build until you feel the energy surging inside you pushing you into action.
Learn to battle the negativity
Clear negative beliefs. They are your counter-intentions.
These are the negative statements you tell yourself and subconsciously believe are true.
Such as, “all the good people are already taken.” Or “I’m too old, too fat, too (fill in the blank).”
These counter-intentions will block what you want (your intention).
Most people are not even aware of these counter-intentions and that they are keeping them from getting what they want. Remember, you don’t have to believe everything you think!
Create reminders of your intention
This will keep you focused and energized. Maybe you write it on a post-it note and stick it on your computer or mirror.
I once wrote “PMA” on a small post-it note and stuck it to my computer monitor to help me remember to have a positive mental attitude. It worked!
Maybe you set a reminder in your phone or calendar to pop up at certain intervals. Maybe you add your daily intention to your written to-do list and highlight it.
Find some way to keep it fresh in your mind.
Take inspired action
Taking action to achieve success will help bring your goals closer to you. You can only bring your desires toward you when you are willing to actively pursue them.
Make setting daily intentions a habit and a part of your daily routine. It will help with your willpower, motivation, and success.
Making time to set daily intentions can be a powerful practice for creating a life you love living. Learn to harness the power of intention, and you can create anything you desire!
