This is a great time of year for moms to get organized and prepare themselves for the busy and hectic start of the school year.
Moms may find the following tips and resources helpful...
- Stay on top of your family’s schedule with these planners that are perfect for moms. These gorgeous planners come in a wide selection of cute colors and are filled with exclusive features for keeping you and your entire family on schedule.
- Using a daily planner to organize your business and your life is an absolute necessity. For many, using a planner comes naturally. Others find it more difficult to find a system that works for them. However, once you find something that fits your preferences you’ll enjoy the freedom of being organized.
- How can being organized make you free? Using a daily planner allows you to get all of the tasks, numbers, appointments, and goals out of your brain and onto paper. As a mother, you are probably being pulled in ten different directions.
- Daily planners help make sense of all of the chaos and get your schedule off your mind and into your hands. After all, you can hardly relax with your husband if you are trying to remember what you need to do the following day or when you are trying to keep your children’s after-school activities schedules straight.
- If you don’t already have a daily planner, you need to make getting one a top priority. Find a system that meets all of your needs. Most women prefer to have one large planner that organizes their entire life. However, if you need two to keep your business and home life separate, then by all means get two. Some people prefer dated planners, others like the freedom of writing in their own dates. There are dozens of different planner systems out there.
- In addition to the calendar sections, your daily planner may have special tabbed sections for keeping track of different things in your life. These sections can vary depending on the planner.
- Don’t be afraid to adapt your daily planner as you work with it. You can add your own special sections as you work with the system. One section that you should add to your daily planner if it is not already there, is a “Goals” section. Writing down your goals and dreams is an important part of accomplishing them. Make your own tabbed section to write down your goals for your personal and business goals for the next month, six months, and year.
- Another helpful section to add is a “Master Task List.” This list can be broken down into two, one for home and one for business. The purpose of a master task list is to write down all of the tasks that you need to remember but haven’t yet planned. Then you can schedule them into your planner throughout the year.
If you’re homeschooling your children, there are times when you will want to spend at least a small chunk of time on the weekend preparing. Plan out the projects, print worksheets, and get things ready so that come Monday, you’re not scrambling.
